Blue Marble Productions, Inc., based in Indianapolis, IN is scheduled to start operations in their new state-of-the-art 181,000 square foot canning facility this month. Already canning alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for some of the biggest companies in the world, Blue Marble has made significant investments to execute on their strategy for accelerated growth. 

As the beverage industry is pivoting to more sustainable packaging solutions and adapting to the increasing consumer demand for convenience, companies with canning expertise like Blue Marble are on the rise. Yet today, while many companies are struggling to scale fast enough to meet the growing market demands, Blue Marble Productions is forging ahead to fill a critical gap in the beverage industry by increasing much needed beverage canning services, and even offering options for outright purchase one of their production lines for larger customers wanting guaranteed production time.

Blue Marble Productions, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Marble Cocktails, Inc., is currently producing its own line of nine “world’s best” award-winning ready-to-drink cocktails and four gold medal vodka seltzers, as well as co-packing and private labeling sparkling fruit juices, kombuchas, vitamin wellness drinks, canned waters, and other spirit based seltzers. Founder and CEO, Alan Miller, made the move in late 2019 to begin investing in a new team and facility to build production lines in 2020 capable of delivering over 450M cans with plans to expand and scale future production capacity to exceed over 1 Billion cans in 2021. Blue Marble Productions has a solid foundation and the expertise to manage everything from custom formulations and market trials to producing multi-million case volumes while continuing to develop, formulate, and co-pack for many of today’s industry leaders.

“We started with a clean slate and would not accept status quo on how facilities were designed or operated. We were a start-up operating like a Fortune 500 company, running SAP, hiring in-house PhDs to lead our formulary development, implementing GMP, and obtaining certifications like SQF, Kosher, Organic, etc… Now, we are making the natural next step towards being an industry leader in co-packing and product development. Expanding our footprint allows us to build another state-of-the-art production facility with plans for 6 lines and increasing our services and capabilities to include in-line sleeving, in-house microbiology, analytical testing, bulk liquid and ingredient storage, warehousing, and full 3PL services. Our expertise in slim/sleek sized cans (200ml, 250ml, and 355ml) requiring carbonation or nitrogen dosing was just the beginning, as we are now set-up to run 12oz and 16 oz industry-standard cans. I could not be prouder of the team we have put together and the products we produce!” said Miller.

In Q4 of 2020, Blue Marble plans to expand its current spirit-based alcohol production by adding malt and wine co-packing capabilities. That added capability is part of their continued expansion plans to include three additional co-packing lines scheduled for build-out in 2021.

With the build out of our next 3 lines, we will add up to another 1.5+ Billion cans of production and provide co-pack customers three unique ways in which to secure their production for 2021 and beyond: (1) Purchase the next available planned line(s) within Blue Marble’s new facility; (2) Pre-pay for line time on our existing lines; (3) Schedule production time through our normal co-packing services. Blue Marble is not just another co-packer, but a full-service total canning solution for the beverage industry.” said President & COO, Brad Clatt.

Operating in its new state-of-the-art facility in October 2020, Blue Marble will leverage its expanded R&D services, in-house lab testing, increased production capacity, additional can sleeving services, expanded packaging services and full 3PL services to provide customers an end-to-end solution from incubation to mass-scale production to grow their brands.

There were 1,200 submissions that included over 30 countries and 60 categories to be judged by working trade buyers from the NYC Metro Area including restauranteurs, sommeliers, retail spirits buyers, distributors, and importers. Being recognized for a premium cocktail right now, amongst other established brands, when the ready-to-drink category is so popular just validates that people want a real cocktail. Welcoming over one million visitors a year, Intrepid Museum includes the Space Shuttle Pavilion, home to Enterprise, the world’s first space shuttle that paved the way for America’s successful Space Shuttle Program. Also, on display are 28 authentically restored aircraft, including the Lockheed A-12, the world’s fastest military jet and spy plane, and the British Airways Concorde, the fastest commercial aircraft to ever cross the Atlantic Ocean. Director, Writer, and Producer Brain Presley bring us “The Great Alaskan Race”. The movie opens in theaters on October 25th, 2019. Based on a true story, In 1925’s historic great race of mercy, a group of brave mushers travels 700 miles to save the small children of Nome, Alaska from a deadly epidemic. The LA Premiere of The Great Alaskan Race was at the Arclight Hollywood and Blue Marble Cocktails was a sponsor on this incredible night. Blue Marble was on the step and repeat that all attendees posed for pictures and spoke to press along with being served at the afterparty.

The Great Alaskan Race is a based on a true story about a race in the 1925’s to get anti-toxin to Nome, Alaska to save all the children who were infected from dying. Leonhard Seppula and his 12-year-old lead dog Togo did an unprecedented 330 miles out of the 700 total in 5 days to get the serum and transport it back to Nome in -80 degree weather. Dogs and Mushers are told to never run past -40 below because it will kill a dog not to mention one should never run a 12-year-old dog in those conditions. Leonhard Seppula showed bravery and selflessness in hopes of saving his entire town. Most of the stories that people have read about this race have been about Balto, the lead dog that took the serum the last 50 miles to the town of Nome. This is the first time that the story of Togo and Balto share the heroic efforts that saved all the children from dying. This was really about the bravery of groups of mushers from around Alaska that were willing to sacrifice their dogs and themselves for the greater good of humanity.

Blue Marble Seltzers was selected as a winning product line in the retail category of “Premium Ready-To-Drink Seltzers In Cans.”

Their submissions in this product category, Ultra-Premium Spiked Seltzers: Pure Love, Citrus Joy, Berry Bliss and Tropical Retreat were all judged superior in Northern California by a panel of Masters of Taste selected by Chefs In America.

The protocols of “triple blind” judging include the following ground rules to ensure accurate and fair judging results.

Evaluators do not know:
1. Who the manufacturer is
2. What the product variety or appellation is
3.What the other evaluators’ scores and comments are during evaluation

The American Masters Of Taste judging panel stated that, “These Ready-To-Drink Vodka-based seltzers in cans, continue to demonstrate Blue Marble’s commitment to creating flavorful, well executed, refreshing, low calorie cocktails for people to conveniently enjoy wherever.”

Although panelists do not see the product packaging prior to the evaluation, they commented afterwards that the sleek, narrow 12 ounce cans with attractive graphics also add to the visual appeal of Blue Marble’s product presentation.

The judging was part of the on-going U.S.A. Taste Championships and U.S.A. Beverage Championships founded in 1986 with the establishment of Chefs In America, whose professional culinary board members gather weekly to conduct taste tests on a myriad of foodservice and retail grocery products.

Blue Marble Ultra-Premium Seltzers was declared a 2019 U.S.A. Taste Champion and 2019 U.S.A. Beverage Champion.

Traditionally coinciding with the start of training camp, the Pacers Foundation Golf Outing is one of the largest fundraisers for the organization. The annual event brings together a unique mix of Pacers players, coaches, media personalities, corporate partners and season ticket holders. The Brickyard Crossing Golf Club has been the gracious host for several years for this event that includes brunch, a four-person scramble, putting competition, unique gifts, and post-round food and beverage including Indiana’s own Blue Marble Cocktails.
