Blue Marble Productions Expands Again to Meet National Canning Co-Packing Capacity Needs

INDIANAPOLIS, April 30, 2021 (Newswire.com) – Blue Marble Productions, Inc based out of Indianapolis, IN is expanding again. Blue Marble is meeting the ever growing capacity needs for canning both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for some of the biggest companies in the world. Blue Marble has made significant investments and are paving new ground for accelerated growth. As the nation’s premier co-packer, Blue Marble is growing from 181,000 square feet to 425,000 square feet with multiple new canning lines, in-house sleeving and variety packaging systems. Blue Marble Productions is forging ahead to fill a much-needed gap in the beverage industry.

Blue Marble Productions, Inc., (a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Marble Cocktails, Inc.), is currently co-packing and private labeling alcoholic and non-alcoholic based products, including ready-to-drink cocktails, sparkling fruit juices, kombuchas, vitamin wellness drinks, canned water and of course vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey and rum based hard seltzers. Founder and CEO, Alan Miller, made the move late 2019 to begin investing in a new team and facility to scale their current co-packing capabilities and are scaling again. Already developing formulas and canning for many of today’s industry leaders, Blue Marble Productions takes great pride in its ability to manage production runs for market trials to multi-million case volumes for today’s largest customers.

“We started with a clean slate and would not accept status quo on how facilities were designed or operated. We were a start-up operating like a Fortune 500 company, running SAP, hiring in-house PhDs to lead our formulary development, implementing GMP, and obtaining certifications like SQF, Kosher, Organic, etc… As an industry leader, expanding our footprint gives us the opportunity to service even more clients. We have already increased our services and capabilities to include in-line sleeving, in-house microbiology and analytical testing, bulk liquid and ingredient storage, warehousing and full 3PL services. I couldn’t be more pleased with the progress we have made and the clientele we service. The entire team at Blue Marble is comprised of some of the most talented individuals I have ever had the pleasure to work with,” said Miller.

In Q4 of 2021, Blue Marble will launch its next new high speed canning line with plans to expand further in 2022 and beyond.

“We are in an aggressive growth mode with the expertise, facility capabilities, and the room to scale at a time when the industry demand has truly outgrown its current canning capacity. We understand that securing line time and capacity is critical for our clients. Our ability to secure aluminum cans, packaging, and ingredients has us well positioned to service clients of all sizes. With this latest expansion we are positioned to exceed 1-Billion can co-packing production annually,” said Brad Clatt, President & COO.

Indianapolis, Indiana – January 9, 2018

Blue Marble Cocktails, a provider of all-natural, ultra-premium, ready-to-drink, pre-mixed cocktails and spirits, announced plans to relocate its Oregon-based headquarters and manufacturing operations to Indianapolis, creating up to 51 new, high-wage jobs by 2019.

“Indiana’s pro-growth business climate continues to be recognized from coast to coast as companies like Blue Marble Cocktails and Spirits choose our state for growth,” said Jim Schellinger, Indiana Secretary of Commerce. “Our skilled workforce, central location and competitive environment create a winning solution for small and large businesses looking to grow. We extend a sincere Hoosier welcome as Blue Marble Cocktails moves from Oregon to Indiana – the best state in the Midwest and the fifth in the nation for doing business.”

The company is investing more than $9 million to relocate its headquarters and manufacturing operations from Portland, Oregon, to Indianapolis, with plans to initially lease and renovate an 18,000-square-foot facility at 6008 Corporate Way. The new facility, which began production this month, will house Blue Marble Cocktails’ office space, show room and its mixing and production warehouse. With the company’s growth in Indiana, Blue Marble Cocktails will be able to produce nearly 3 million cases, which includes 24 cans per case, of its all-natural, ultra-premium, ready-to-drink cocktails and spirits. The company plans to build a brand new production site in the future, and has already begun its search for a permanent location in central Indiana.

Blue Marble Cocktails, which was founded by a native Hoosier, Alan Miller, employs eight full-time associates in Indiana and is currently hiring for brand ambassadors, operation managers and quality control supervisors, with new positions expected to offer average wages nearly double the state’s average wage.

“As a native-born Hoosier, I have a passion and love for all things Indiana,” said Miller, chief executive officer and founder of Blue Marble Cocktails. “I can’t wait to witness Blue Marble Cocktails’ success in a state that offers talented people whom we are excited to grow our company with. I’m confident this is just the start of our growth, and look forward to witnessing people across the nation enjoying an all-natural, Hoosier-made cocktail or spirit.”

The company offers 9 handcrafted, ultra-premium, all-natural cocktails – which includes varieties like coconut island, cosmo, marble-rita, vodka soda, and bloody mary – to airlines, cruise lines, hotels, casinos and event venues. Blue Marble Cocktails supports global conservation and environmental initiatives through its “We Care” program and uses recyclable cans for its products. In 2017, the company received honors from the American Master of Taste, Los Angeles International Spirits Competition, SIP Awards, New York International Spirits Competition and the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Blue Marble Cocktails also sponsors events like the 2017 World Series of Beach Volleyball.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Blue Marble Productions Inc up to $765,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation and investment plans. These incentives are performance based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Indianapolis supports the project at the request of Develop Indy, a business unit of the Indy Chamber.

“Manufacturing continues to evolve and grow in Indianapolis and we welcome Blue Marble Cocktails to our city with an economic ecosystem ready to support their future success,” said Mayor Joe Hogsett. “Indianapolis’ 21st- century workforce and culture of innovation will work hand in hand with Blue Marble Cocktails and Spirits’ business enterprise and we look forward to having this company as a community partner for years to come.”

In 2017, Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced a record-breaking year for economic development in Indiana. In 2017, businesses like Blue Marble Cocktails committed to creating up to 30,158 new Hoosier jobs in the coming years – an all-time high since the IEDC was established in 2005.
