LUXlife magazine announces the winners of the 2020 Food & Drink Awards.
This year has been the harbinger of challenge, and perhaps no more so than for the hospitality industries. Simple things, such as having food traffic, have been far from guaranteed. For many, it’s been a year of ‘worst case scenario’. Something that couldn’t possibly be planned for. However, that’s not to say that 2020 has been completely void of achievements and success. Because, out of the many challenges 2020 has brought to many a threshold, it has also offered an opportunity to adapt in unexpected ways. Businesses have capitalized on uncertainty and wielded impressive reputations and expertise to bring about new achievements. New successes. New growth. It is with that in mind that LUXlife launched this year’s Food and Drink Awards. To celebrate every success, no matter how small they may seem. Commenting on the winners of this year’s awards program, Coordinator Katherine Benton stated: “It’s been a difficult year for the hospitality and food and drink industries. With that, I offer my sincere congratulations to all of those recognized. I hope you have a better and thriving year ahead.”

December 2020

Blue Marble Cocktails make gold-winning, lightly spiked, vodka-based seltzers as seen in this year’s Canned Challenge competition. All Blue Marble’s seltzers are made with vodka and sparkling water with 95 calories and 1 gram carbohydrate. The flavor evoking names Berry Bliss, Citrus Joy, Pure Love, and Tropical Retreat are just part of the endearment of this line of lightly spiked seltzers coming in at 5% abv. In a sea of canned cocktails and malt-based seltzers on the shelf, it could be overwhelming to decide what to buy. Knowing that esteemed judges in the industry believed in Blue Marble, should ease that decision.

About Canned Challenge

The judges consisting of sommeliers, retail buyers, journalists, mixologist and beverage directors conducted the competition in a double-blind process. All judges undergo a calibration course prior to the competition to ensure consistency, fairness in evaluation and scoring of all spirits.

May 2020

Canned seltzers are one of the most trending and interesting ready-to-drink segments in the spirit industry this year. Variations of malt-based and vodka-based seltzers with varying percentages of alcohol keeps consumers on their toes. San Francisco World Spirits Competition placed our vodka-based seltzers in high regard this year as Blue Marble collected medals for Berry Bliss, Citrus Joy, Tropical Retreat and Pure Love.

About San Francisco World Spirits Competition

This competition is controlled with blind tasting and judges do not receive information about the producer or price point, ensuring that the competition is fair and without bias. Blue Marble’s Pure Love Spiked Seltzer won GOLD, meaning this is an exceptional spirit and near the pinnacle of achievement. BLUE MARBLE HAD EVERYONE BRINGING THEIR “A GAME” AT THE 2019 YPCI CHARITY GOLF OUTING

YPCI Golf Charity

Indianapolis, IN

The YPCI Charity Golf Outing at Eagle Creek Golf Course was on May 31st. It was a great time networking with new friends while giving back to the community as YPCI raised funds for the Hawthorne Community Center. This is the largest young professional golf outing in the state of Indiana. With sponsors on every hole to interact with over 100 players were out to enjoy the event.

Through fundraising and the raffling off over $1200 worth of prizes YPCI was able to raise over $2,000 for Gleaners Food Bank in 2018. This year YPCI had an even larger dollar goal to raise money for a deserving charity on the west side of Indianapolis. They sold mulligans, string, and raffle tickets to help surpass the goal of $5,000 in charitable donations.

Blue Marble Cocktails was on the green serving its delicious cocktails featuring the flavors of: Cosmo, Bloody Mary, Marble-Rita, and Moscow Mule. Alan Miller, fellow Hoosier and founder of Blue Marble Cocktails said, “It is an honor to be able to give back and be involved in these local community events. YPCI was a great turnout of incredible people. To be able to raise funds for this deserving charity in Indiana feels good and is just one way we try to give back to the blue marble.”

About YPCI
It all started when a group of YPs back in 2000 had a vision to connect professionals and promote the value of networking at an earlier point in one’s career. Back then, there were around 30 members. A year later, the group officially took on the name “YPCI” and quickly grew to over 100 members. YPCI is all about helping create the brightest business future for central Indiana as possible. This is best accomplished through fostering positive business relationships and professional opportunities as young professionals. For more information visit YPCI.

About the Hawthorne Center
The mission of the Hawthorne Community Center is to provide or facilitate services and programs that meet the economic, educational, financial, social, recreational and civic needs of the entire Hawthorne Community. The Hawthorne Community is located between Downtown Indianapolis and Speedway. For more information visit Hawthorne Center.
